Disc Golf Mid Range

Disc Golf Mid Range

Disc golf midranges are a type of disc used in the sport of disc golf, and they are designed to cover intermediate distances with a high degree of accuracy. Midrange discs are versatile and can be used for a variety of shots, including approach shots and controlled drives. Here are some key characteristics that define disc golf midrange discs:

  1. Speed:

    • Midrange discs have a moderate speed, typically lower than distance drivers but higher than putters. The speed of midranges is denoted by a number on the disc (e.g., 4, 5, 6), indicating the disc’s aerodynamic design and the speed required for optimal performance.
  2. Glide:

    • Midrange discs generally have a moderate glide, providing enough lift to cover moderate distances while maintaining control. The glide rating is another number on the disc and indicates how well the disc can stay in the air.
  3. Turn and Fade:

    • The turn and fade ratings of midrange discs influence their flight characteristics. Turn refers to the disc’s tendency to turn to the right during the initial part of its flight (for right-handed backhand throws), while fade is the tendency to finish to the left at the end of the flight.
