Innova Says: In 1984, Innova ushered in a new class of farther-flying discs with Dave’s design of the Aviar XD (later renamed the XD). To commemorate 40 years of our fourth mold to market, Innova is making a run of XDs in rare Metalflake Dark Star material. Shimmering specks on a black background look like stars in the night sky. The stamp is in the style of early runs of XDs when Aviar was still in the name. The XD has a low profile, thin rim which promotes a secure grip and an easy, natural release. These features combined with straight flight characteristics make the XD an easy to throw and control disc. It is the most driver-like putter we have and is useful for putts, drives and approach shots. Good disc for developing a “touch” around the basket.

A Brief INNOVA History:
INNOVA was formed in 1983 to meet the developing equipment needs of disc golfers. In that year, Dave Dunipace created the World’s first disc designed specifically for the sport of Disc Golf. That first disc, the Eagle – U.S. Patent # 4,568,297, established INNOVA as the technological pacesetter in Disc Golf. Our continuing design innovations and product improvements keep INNOVA number one in Disc Golf.Today INNOVA is the most popular and complete line of golf discs. INNOVA’s precision molded discs meet the demands of any shot regardless of the player’s skill level. INNOVA golf discs offer the superior “feel” that is so critical for confidence and shot making ability. The inevitable changes in flight characteristics that come with use are gradual and older discs often become those special discs you depend upon when you have to make the shot that counts.
